This is what happens when I find a pot of gold...

Got a new computer mouse, since my old optical was beginning to wig out a little and cause me a great deal of grief. Why do they always make a computer mouse so small? I'll be honest--I'm a 6' Irish bred kind of man. My hands are very large, strong, slightly rough things that do not do well with tiny electronics. When I am at a computer, I want a mouse that roars more like a lion. I want to almost struggle with it for control--I like something that fights back a little. This is not that kind of mouse. This is the mousy kind of mouse. But it works, and that's good enough for me at the moment.
And I finally have a UPS! Given that our power here routinely goes up or down on a whim when the summer heat kicks in, I would rather have some measure of control over the fate of my computer activities than merely dying every time a .0025-second glitch occurs.
Been feeling okay lately. A few random ideas pop into my head, but they're quickly subdued and left in the aether until some other time. A few troubling thoughts, but they are fortunately rare. Tomorrow is scheduled to be 112 here in NC (after taking into account the heat index). I am praying that the AC holds--both at home and at work. And I find my thoughts drifting into strange places lately. Dangerous places. Forbidden places. And yet tantalizing places that beckon me to enter and reside there.
Guess we'll see what I do. |
An UPS is a wonderful thing. I am so glad I have my UPS because you never know when the power will go out. Out here, we have little outages that last only a few seconds, but they are very troublesome for computer users. My UPS provides most of my rig with 30 minutes of power, which is plenty of time to save my work and finish up what I'm doing.
I hope you enjoy that UPS.
I am very happy with it. The peace of mind it brings alone is worth the money spent on it.
You want to struggle with your electronics? *grins*
I'm very non-techie. I was excited over my Jabra ear headphone thingy for my new phone, but it took me half an hour to figure out how to get it on my ear. By that time, my ear was as red as a cherry. *rubs it*
:)
I like a good challenge--not just with the electronics. ;)
